CAU holds talk, workshop

Central Agricultural University (CAU) on Saturday organised a talk programme on how to deal with the mental stress and issues brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the programme, RIMS Department of Psychiatry Prof RK Lenin explained in detail what stress is and the steps people could take to avoid it and maintain peace of mind amidst the pandemic.
In all, around 200 staff and students of CAU campuses across the northeast virtually attended the programme.
Associate Coordinator (IADP-NAHEP) Dr EV Divakara, Instruction director Prof Dr S Basanta and deputy director Dr Y Bedajit of CAU, Imphal also attended the talk programme.
On the other hand, a two-day online workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) concerning agricultural sciences was inaugurated by Director of Extension Education, CAU in collaboration with Resource Management Cell (RMC) on Saturday.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Extension Education director DR Ranjit highlighted the benefits of IPR in agricultural sciences, while pointing out the inability of CAU to commercialise new products and innovations of agricultural sciences owing to non-filing of patents or obtaining IPRs.
The workshop was also attended by Hyderabad National Agricultural Resource and Management joint director Dr Kalpana Sastry; Indian Chamber of Commerce, Guwahati Dr Pramod Dutta Mazumdar, advocate PK Bagchi, ICAR IP&TM Unit Dr Manju Gerard and ICAR former ADG Dr Sanjeev Saxena
as speakers.
