AR nabs 24 Myanmarese nationals

Imphal, October 06 2021:
A team of 20 Assam Rifles on Tuesday apprehended 24 Myanmarese nationals carrying Aadhaar cards along with four Indians accompanying them at PVCP Khudengthabi.
According to an AR report, the AR team led by Nb/Sub MS Panu stopped and interrogated a person during a routine checking around 3 pm of Tuesday and due to suspicion of accent and language reported it to Khudengthabi Post commander who ordered the second in command (2IC) to investigate the matter and the Moreh Police was also informed.
The 2IC along with a Moreh Police team found that 24 Myanmarese nationals including 14 females and three children were going to Churachandpur from Moreh accompanied by one Daniela Vantallawma of Moreh in three Eeco vans (MN 06LB 3696, MN 02B 2370 and MN 04P 0840) driven by Thankhochon Sithou, Lamkholal and Monthang respectively.
Out of them, 21 individuals were found in possession of Aadhaar cards with nine of them belonging to Mungswa, Khutan village, Myanmar and the rest of the 15 belonging to Butalen, Toyero, Myanmar.
The 24 Myanmarese nationals and the four Indians accompanying them along with the recovered Aadhaar cards have been handed over to Moreh police station for further legal action.
