Imphal, October 06 2021:
Candidates, who appeared in the selection process for recruitment in the Manipur State Power Development Corporation Limited (MSPDCL) and Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL), on Wednesday tried to storm the CM's Bungalow here but foiled from carrying out their agitation by security personnel.
Demanding the government to declare the results of the recruitment before the upcoming state assembly elections, the candidates cautioned that their families might not participate in the election if the government fails to fulfil their demand.
The candidates in an attempt to raise their demand to chief minister tried to storm the CM's bungalow from Nupilal complex.
However, security personnel deployed in the area halted the protestors and dispersed them.
Later, the protestors held a press conference at Manipur Press Club where one Julia Loitongbam said that recruitment for around 1000 Group C and D posts in MSPDCL and MSPCL was conducted by the government in 2019.However, the results are yet to be declared despite several assurances given by government, she lamented.
Recalling that a memorandum was submitted to the chief minister, Julia said that the chief minister has never given a reply to their demand.
On the other hand, power minister Th Biswajit assured of declaring the result while meeting him, she recounted, while adding that the protest has been launched as the government failed to give an exact date for announcing the pending results of the recruitment.
