Jiribam, June 16 2012:
Traffic movement along Imphal-Jiribam Highway has come to a halt since yesterday due to pathetic road condition.
A number of vehicles that moved towards Imphal had to take a u-turn from Nung Dollan to Jiribam as they could not negotiate the way from there.
As monsoon has set in, the condition of stretches of the road such as Barak to Oinamlong, and Shanti Khunou to Nung Dollan are said to be in their worst condition.
Loaded trucks have had to bear the brunt due to occurence of landslide at as many as ten places.
As a result, accidents due to landslides have also been reported.

Though the BRTF personnel are clearing the debris on a war-footing, they are not expected to complete the clearance in a couple of days, a source said.
Meanwhile, alleging that truckers are responsible for deteriorating the road condidtion with their overloaded weights, the Civilong villagers have urged the authority concerned to check the weight of the trucks.
