Both the domes of Shree Shree Govindajee temple are glittering bright with the completion of fresh gold plating.
A source told The Sangai Express that the domes were plated with 30 kg of gold recently in order to beautify the temple.
With pulling down of the old mandap (hall) on November 18, 2013, renovation of the temple started on November 20 last year, the source added.
It added that gold plating works commenced in April this year and completed on August 25 .

The source said that 70 per cent of the construction of the new mandap has been completed so far.
The temple complex is manned by State security forces round the clock.
It is said that the Shree Shree Govindajee temple was originally built in 1846 during the reign of Maharaj Nara Singh.
The Hindu Vaishnavite temple has idols of Krishna, Radha, Balaram, Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra.
