An unidentified man was found killed by the police last night around 7 from Turibari under Kangpokpi PS.
According to police reports, a blood stained boulder which might have been used by the killers was found near the victim's body.
The victim's head was severely damaged and the report further added that the blood stained boulder which was lying near the victim might have been used by the assailants to kill the man.
Police have retrieved the unidentified body and is being kept at the RIMS morgue for identification.
The man is said to be strongly built and expected to be around 35 yrs of age.
He is clad in blue pant and a grey jersey.
A red bag containing soap and tooth paste were also recovered along with the victim.
Meanwhile, the identity of the unidentified woman which was found near the Chandel Electricity office on Jan 18 last has been identified as one Kimeha (35) of Changoubung, under Kangpokpi PS.
The deceased woman is the wife of (L) Touthang an employee of the 8th MR.She is reported to have been working as a Follower.
The body has been handed over to family members yesterday after conducting a post mortem at the Lilong PHC.
Meanwhile, a post mortem was conducted today at RIMS on the unidentified body which was retrieved from Koirengei Old Air Field on Jan 16.The unidentified body will be consigned to flames tomorrow by the Imphal Municipality as no one has come forward to claim the body.
Van stolen: A maruti van (MN-1A/6162) was stolen from Mujikhul, Thangmeiband yesterday at around 7 pm.
The van is said to have been stolen from the rear gate of Mujikhul, where it was parked.
The owner of the van has been identified as one Khoirom Joykumar of Lalambung Makhong.
The van is said to be used for ferrying school children of Kendra Vidyalaya Lamphel.
Heroin seized: Narcotics and Affairs of Borders (NAB) personnel arrested a man this afternoon at 1.30 from Keishampat Leimajam Leikai and recovered 45 gms of Heroin.
The arrested man has been identified as one Naorem Akanto alias Kanto (45).He is a resident of Keishampat Leimajam Leikai.
The Seized heroin is estimated to worth around Rs 45,000 in the local market.
Meira paibis of the locality have expressed their gratitude to the police personnel for the seizure.
