The United Committee, Manipur an umbrella organisation of six bodies spearheading the movement to save the territorial integrity of Manipur today stated categorically that the UCM will talk with the Centre only after it gets the approval and consent of the people.
Moreover if any talk is to be held it will be conducted at the Prime Minister�s level.
UCM conveners Sapamcha Jadumani, Udoi Thongam and Kh Ratan told reporters today that the UCM is skeptical of the Centre�s review proposal of the ceasefire agreement.
As such the UCM will carry on with its agitation against the truce extension in a peaceful and democratic manner until the complete withdrawal of the ceasefire is announced by the Union Government.
To facilitate smooth and fast communication between the people and the UCM five public Relations Officers have been opened, they informed.
The offices are located at the IPSA office at Keishamthong Bazar, AMUCO office at Kwakeithel, AMSU HQs at DM College and AMKIL and NIPCO office at Kongba Bazar.
The UCM leaders appealed to the people to help the PRO offices function smoothly.
Announcing a series of tentative programmes to be organized in the next few days the UCM leaders said plans are on to organize a cycle rally at Thoubal district on July 13, cycle rally at Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts on July 14, auto rickshaw rally at Imphal East and West districts on July 15, rickshaw rally at Imphal East and West on July 16 and also another rally of van, Tata Sumo and jeep at the two Imphal districts on July 17.UCM is also conducting mass awareness campaigns all across the state and decisions and resolutions arrived at the campaigns are being collected.
A mass public meeting will be adopted and announced, said the UCM leaders.
