Imphal, February 09 2015:
The Tangkhul Naga Aze Longphang (TNAL) has condemned the series of violent incidents that occurred in Kasom Khullen subdivision which claimed a human life within the last few days.
While the people of the area were mourning the sorrowful death of Nk Addison who lost his life in a blast on Feb 5, a gunfight ensued near Nambashi Khunou the next day, a statement issued by Rockson A Shimray, secretary of TNAL or Southern Tangkhul Naga People Union said.
Such incidents have created fear psychosis among the public of the area, it said while adding that daily activities of the people came to a standstill as fear gripped the mindset of the people.
Pointing out that fighting would not bring any solution, the statement said that such incidents would only spread hatred and misunderstanding.
"The goal of every revolutionary movement may be the same, therefore, fighting among the groups would not be the best solution," it said.
TNAL, on behalf of the Southern Tangkhul Naga people, has appealed to all concerned underground groups to shun violence so that peace prevails in the subdivision.
It added that unwarranted violent acts would also disturb the study environment of the students who are preparing to write their board exams.
