HRI presents monetary gifts to meira paibi activists

In connection with its 14th foundation day held on August 9, Human Rights Initiative (HRI), Manipur selected some senior meira paibi leaders and presented them with a sum of Rs 3000 each as a token of gift in remembrance of their past outstanding services in the field of anti-drug and human rights issues.
In a release, HRI assistant secretary Thingom Kaminikumar informed that on Friday and Saturday, a team of HRI went to the residences of the select meira paibi leaders and presented them the gifts.
The meira paibi leaders included Keisham Taruni Devi (85), wife of K Lalabi Singh of Top Khongnangkhong, Imphal East district, who was the founder president of Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA: 2006 2012) & also the former president of Nupi Samaj (2013-2017) ; Chongtham Nupimacha Devi (71), wife of (L) Ch Bangka Singh of Tera Amudon Akham Leikai, Imphal West, who was the founder president of Tammi Chingmi (1997-2000); Ngangom Manjuri Devi (73), wife of N Nabachandra Singh of Takyel Khongban Khumanthem Leikai, Imphal West, who was the founder and general secretary of Tammi Chingmi (1997-2004); Moirangthem Guni Devi (66), wife of M Bheigya Singh of Leirongthel Makha Leikai, Thoubal under Heirok AC, who was a member of Thoubal District United Women's Development Organisation (Thoubal Ima) from 2006 to 2012; Thongam Chandrasakhi Devi (91), wife of (late) Th Kulachandra Singh of Nagamapal Shingjubung Leirak, Imphal West, who was a member of Nupi Samaj; Moirangthem Maniyai Devi (88), wife of M Kulachandra Singh of Kumbi Setapur Mayai Leikai, Bishnupur, who was a member of Nupi Samaj; and Phuritsabam Memma Devi (78), wife of Ph Ibobi Singh of Kanto Sabal Keingam, Imphal West, who was the founder member of Nupi Samaj, it added.
