Firing at Saheibung peak by picnickers flayed

Kuki Students' Organization (KSO), Moltam Block, district and Saheibung Village Authority (SVA) have strongly condemned the alleged firing at Saheibung peak by unknown miscreants on Monday afternoon.
The two bodies while condemning the alleged firing stated that the unknown miscreants believed to be a picnic party fired several shots at the Saheibung peak located near Kotlen Assam Rifles camp.
Owing to the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, Saheibung Peak known for its scenic beauty was closed by the village authority.
However, few people who are well aware of the situation and closure of the peak deliberately ignored the village authority's restriction and entered the peak.
They were not only enjoying at the peak but also opened fire creating panic among the surrounding inhabitants, KSO and SVA said.
They further said that owing to the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, the state government has put restrictions on all types of gatherings but the unknown miscreants violating the SOPs visited Saheibung peak which has been closed in compliance with the government's restrictions.
While strongly condemning the violation of COVID advisories and creating panic among the surrounding inhabitants by firing bullets, the KSO Moltam block and Saheibung Village Authority, appealed to the authority concerned to book the persons in question at the earliest so as to bring normalcy in the area and to avoid another such situation in future.
