9 State cops to get police medal for meritorious service

Imphal, August 14 2023:
On the eve of 77th Independence Day, the Centre announced service medals for 954 police personnel of various central and state forces and 10 police personnel from Manipur figured in the list recommended for the different awards.
Chief head warder Sougrakpam Gambhi Singh figured in the list of correctional service medal for prison personnel award while nine more state police personnel figured in the recommended list of police medal for meritorious service.
They are havildar Sapam Yaimathoi Singh, havildar Kongbrailatpam Devdutta Sharma, havildar Longjam Shanta Singh, subedar Yumlembam Sumanta (MPTC), inspector Khoute Thangzalal (CID,SP), assistant commandant I Seimang Khongsai, jemadar Md Phayajar, jemadar Sanasam Dijen and jemadar Shijagurumayum Budhachandra Sharma.
Several other state native policemen serving in different police organisations were also recommended for police medal for meritorious service and they are BSF 2IC Sunil Soibam, CISF SI Khutamcha Haobijam, SSB constable Salam Thoiba Singh and deputy central intelligence officer in MHA Momo Raj Irom.
Several other state natives serving in Indian Defence Service also figured in the list recommended for COAS commendation service and they are Sarat Chingakham of 14 Rajput, Asem Rahul of 18 AR, both in infantry, and K Ibomcha Singh in electronic and mechanical engineer.
Three more state natives figured in military police corp COAS commendation service and they are Nongmeikapam Romen Singh of MAR, Nongmaithem Binoj Singh of 31 AR and Thingujam Amarjit Singh of 18 AR.
Irom Momoli Devi also figured in Military nursing service while havildar Koijam Jaykumar Meitei also figured in the list of VCOSS commendation award.
