Mental health education programme held

Imphal, April 21 2018:
A one day
targeted intervention
programme on "Mental health
education" was held at Ideal
School, Thanga, Bishnupur
district.
The programme was or-
ganised by Department of
Health & Family Service,
Manipur under the National
Mental Health Programme,
State Health Society Manipur,
with an aim of creating aware-
ness on mental health problem
amongst adolescent/students
and substance abuse amongst
students.

dignitaries.
Speaking as resource per-
sons, Dr A Ranita Devi
stressed on mental conditions
among children/school chil-
dren and highlighted the
importance of healthy mind.
Kishorchand Konsamcha
Clinical Psychologist, Dis-
trict Hospital Thoubal spoke
on mental retardation while
stressing on the role of teach-
ers/parents in understanding
a child's mental condition
while urging them not to give
harsh punishment to children
for low academic perform-
ance.
Dr Kh Robindro Singh
spoke on substance abuse
amongst school children/
adolescents and it's impact on
society.
He said the parents
who are addicted to alcohol
or other drugs also impacts a
child's mental health.
