Senapati, July 28 2021:
Aid India through BGVS volunteers distributed food items to people in villages like Mao Marafii, Sadim Emesho, New Magaimai and Katomei Gilgal Colony in Senapati district.
Covid-19 pandemic has hit hard the villagers as they could not go out of their villages for earning their livelihood.
Mao Marafii and Sadim Emesho reportedly face a major challenge because the two villages still do not have proper roads with deficient rainfall this year compounding their problem as they could not carry out farming activities.
People of Mao Marafii and Sadim Emesho villages have to respectively trek for hours to procure items of daily needs as they don't have proper road leading their villages.
In the case of Sadim Emesho, the villagers procure their ration from the Maram-Paren Road after crossing a temporary shaky bridge over Barak River.
BGVS volunteers continued tne ration distribution in New Magaimai village located along Maram-Paren road which is around 8 km from Maram centre.
Later, the distribution continued at Katomei Gilgal Colony in Senapati.
The ration distribution is being carried out since the past weeks under the Covid Relief initiative of Aid In dia through BGVS volunteers.
Medical equipment have also been provided to hospitals and frontline workers covering needy districts in the state.
