Imphal, July 26 2014 :
Pointing out that Art & Culture Department has not yet released financial assistance for the year 2013 and 2014 meant for works related with arts and culture, All Manipur Anti-Corruption & Social organization (AMACSO) has urged the Chief Minister to intervene into the matter and ensure that the financial assistance is released at the earliest.
In a press meet at the office of PANDAM here on Friday, B Prem Sharma, general secretary of AMACSO said that beneficiaries were told by the department to open their bank accounts for availing the financial assistance which was supposed to be released in April month like in past years.
But nothing has been disclosed by the department on withholding the financial assistance so far.
He stated that in the past, cash was handed over to the beneficiaries after deducting 5 percent and taking signatures in Actual Payee Receipt (APR) but following the implementation of RTGS bank details were collected and the beneficiaries were made to deposit their documents every half-month without giving any specific reason.
