Indian ambassador to Myanmar visits Haipi

Kanggui, July 29 2013:
On the sidelines of his official visit to Manipur, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Gautam Mukhopadhaya paid a visit to his in-laws family today at Haipi Village and Kangpokpi in Sadar Hills.
Interestingly, Gautam Mukhopadhaya is the husband of Nengcha Lhouvum of Kangpokpi, the first IFS officer from among Kuki community.
She is a daughter of Late SL.Palal.The Indian Ambassador to Myanmar also paid a visit to his brother in-law SL.Boikho, a Retd of Principal of Churachandpur College at Kangpokpi and later went to the residence of the first IAF Officer among Kuki community Late.
Retd.Wing Commander, Lamkhohen Misao, who was also an ex-member of MPSC, to convey his condolence to the bereaved families and paid homage to the grave of the departed soul.
The deceased Retd.Wg.Cdr.'s wife is the elder sister of Gautam Mukhopadhaya's wife Nengcha Lhouvum.
From there, Gautam Mukhopadhaya went to Haipi village where another elder sister of his beloved wife resides with her Retd.IAS husband Kaikam Kipgen.
Mentioned may be made here that Retd.IAS Kaikam Kipgen is the first IAS Officer from among Kuki community.
At Haipi, the Ambassador was accorded a warm welcome by the Village Authority of Haipi.
He also planted sapling of an Ashoka tree in front of the village community hall to mark his visit.
