Imphal, July 29 2013:
With regard to the alleged exclusion of the people living in the sub-divisions of Purul, Mao-Maram and Paomata from the census exercise twice, the Naga People's Organisation (NPO) has convened a public meeting at Senapati district headquarters on August 6 .
Apart from leaders of civil society organisations, village chiefs and secretaries would be present at the meeting.
It is likely that the meeting would adopt a decision to launch intense agitation against the alleged exclusion of the three sub-divisions from census exercise.
Even Government offices located in Senapati district may be forced to shut down.
Concerned with the same matter of keeping away the three sub-divisions from the census Minister, RD Minister Francis Ngajokpa had talked with the Union Home Minister, Home Secretary and the Registrar General of India recently.
