DM orders people in IW district to remain indoors

Imphal, July 28 2021:
In accordance to the state government's order of imposing seven days state wide curfew in view of the prevailing Covid-19 situation, Imphal West district magistrate Th Kirankumar has prohibited the movement 6f any person outside their respective residences for seven days till August 3.In an order, Kirankumar stated that the order will not apply to agencies of government departments involved in enforcement of law and order, those in essential activities/services related to vaccination; Covid testing; medical services (hospitals/clinics, pharmacies); water supply; power supply; telecom/internet services; air travel; agriculture/horticulture; garbage clearance; petrol pumps; LPG distributors; goods trucks; district administration officials/staff managing Covid-19; print and electronic media.
The post office shall open with minimal staff for urgent office work and delivery while banking and ATM services as well as insurance offices will operate as per the earlier order.
The other permitted activities include veterinary and animal husbandry/dairy-for collection and home delivery of milk and feeding animals and birds in government farms; e-commerce delivery including home delivery of vegetables/fish/meat and grocery; home delivery of cooked food by authorised delivery staff; personnel of CAF&PD and FC1; Forest Department; officials and workers of road projects taken up by NHIDCL along with road projects taken up by Asian Development Bank and railway projects in the state.
The order further said that in case of emergencies and for people who want to perform marriage and funeral services applications should be submitted to the DM or to the SP, Imphal West for permission with names of people who will attend in a Covid containment free area.
