Millennium Science Lecture-2104 organized

Manipur Science Communicators' Association (MASCA) along with Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC) organized 'Millennium Science Lecture-2014' at Model Higher Secondary School today with Th Surendranath, director of MASTEC and Hijam Ranjit, principal of Model Higher Secondary School attending as chief guest and president respectively.
Addressing the gathering, Surendranath stated that December 10 is the day when the honorable Nobel Prize is presented to its winner in commemoration of the renowned scientist Alfraid Nobel who formed a committee in 1895 in connection with the presentation of the award.
He maintained that the first Nobel Prize was presented in 1901 in five disciplines but it was increased to six disciplines including science, arts, literature, peace and economic in 1969 .
Saying altogether 13 people including Kailash Satyarthi from India and Malala Yousufzai were selected for conferring the award for this year, he added that the cash reward of the prize in Indian currency is worth around Rs 6.50 crore.
