Incomplete sports complex irked Chandel people

The incomplete works on the district sports' complex constructed at Chandel Christian in Chandel district become a cause of concern for the general public of Chandel after the concerned contractors engaged for work left midway.
Talking to media in this regard today, President of Naga Peoples' Front (NPF) Chandel division Ts Molarshing informed that the construction work of District Sports Complex started in 2008 under the agency of Manipur Development Society (MDS).
Though the construction work on the components of the sports complex like Indoor Stadium, Basket ball court, 80 bedded sports hostel for both boys and girls, Staff's quarters, Chowkidar's quarters, buffer wall along the river bank and the approached have been completed, work on the Stadium including VIP gallery, Public gallery and eight land 400m track and Collector drain with underground cross drain have been left midway for the last one to two years without any reason made known to the general public.
To this regard, NPF has made fervent appealed to the concerned Minister to do the needful so as to enable the work agency and contractors to complete the remaining works for the benefit of the people of Chandel.
Molarshing also appreciated BRO for taking good initiatives in connection with improving the road stretch from Pallel to Japhou Bazar Chandel since taking over the charge in 2011 inspite of the fact that the concerned Ministry for Surface Road & Transport, Govt.of India has failed to sanction the fund till date.
