Shiv Sena ready for urban polls, MPP Lok Sabha

Shiv Sena Eknath Shin-de Manipur unit president M Tombi along with party's NE in-charge Parbinder Singh Manchal met party president Eknath Shinde and apprised the latter about the upcoming urban body elections in Manipur.
According to Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde Manipur vice president M Hkendra, the party is ready to face the upcoming local body elections in Manipur and is hopeful of opening the account in the election.
He said that party's state president M Tombi met national president Eknath Shinde and apprised the latter about preparedness for the upcoming election.
M Tombi also submitted a memorandum to Eknath Shinde and urged the latter to appoint one MP as party's in-charge for the North East.
On the other-hand, Manipur People's Party (MPP) president Chingakham Shyamjai has said that the party will field its candidate in the next Lok Sabha election likely to be held in April, 2024 .
Addressing media persons at MPP office, here, on Friday, Shyamjai said that MPP is one of the oldest regional parties of the North East and it had even ruled in the state for several terms but it is now derecognised by the ECI.
The party will field candidates in both Inner and Outer Manipur parliamentary constituencies in Lok Sabha election in 2024 so that the party regains ECI recognition.
He said that MPP would get ECI recognition if candidates secure at least 16,000 votes in the Lok Sabha election.
While informing that MPP recently elected four vice-presidents, nine working committee members and two disciplinary committee members with relevant process underway for appointment of the remaining members, Shyamjai said that some people are trying to malign image of party leaders by making baseless remarks through the media.
He appealed to all concerned not to make malicious comments but join hands for strengthening the party.
