FRIENDS pulls up 10 non-locals

Imphal, November 25 2013:
Acting on the order passed by Thoubal Municipal Council on October 12 last making it clear that male non-locals would not be allowed to sell wares in Thoubal Nupi Market, volunteers of Federation Regional Indigenous Societies (FREINDS) under the supervision of Chongtham Sanatomba Meetei, secretary general and Yumnam Henthoi, publicity secretary along with the authorities of Thoubal Municipal Council pulled up ten male non-locals from Thoubal Market for defying the order.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held at Wangjing Bazar with H Gourahari, Chairperson in the chair and unanimously resolved to not allow male vendors selling wares among women vendors in Wangjing Bazar, to prevent from selling landed properties to non-locals and check whether non-locals are involved in crimes.
Volunteers of FRIENDS, Thoubal District Council also inspected the Wangjing Bazar to check whether non-locals are selling wares in the bazar.
