Centre sends 60 oxygen concentrators, CM allays fear

A consignment of 60 oxygen concentrators sent by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) arrived in Imphal in a cargo plane of the Indian Air Force on Monday as part of the Central government's initiative towards mitigating the crisis of oxygen shortage that the country is facing in the wake of Covid-19 second wave.
While announcing the arrival of oxygen concentrators, CM Biren said that the ministry had earlier airlifted 50 D-type oxygen cylinders and another consignment of 60 oxygen concentrators arrived on Monday.
More oxygen cylinders and concentrators are also being brought in, he said, adding that the government is making every possible effort to ensure adequate stock of oxygen.
While asserting that the government will not relent till normalisation of the situation, he also appealed all not to get panic over shortage of oxygen or oxygen cylinders.
Biren also shared the grief and pain of those families, who have lost their near and dear ones in the pandemic.
On the other hand, the CM said that the government has been providing arnbulances in interior areas of the state and healthcare workers are carrying out their duties with dedication.
Doctors and nurses are not only assessing conditions of Covid patients in home isolation but also distributing required medicines and pulse oximeters, he said while thanking the healthcare workers for their dedication.
