Central funds fully utilized : Ngajokpa

Francis Ngajokpa, the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister claimed on Saturday that all central funds are timely released and this include the fund for MGNREGS.
This was disclosed in a press conference held in his office on Saturday.
There was a change in the central funding from 2013-14 .
Under the new funding pattern the centre had given Rs 219.97 crore in March this year.
There was a state share of Rs 50 crore.
The state government had released Rs 268.53 crore for the nine districts.
The balance of Rs 1.44 crore is being utilized in the state monitoring cell.
As the central fund was decreased the chief minister had brought it to the notice of the union minister concerned pointing out that even 50 mandays out of one hundred cannot be arranged.
There was no lapse on the part of the state government, he said.
He said that it is deplorable that the All Tribal Chiefs Forum is leveling a baseless charge saying that the state government is misusing the fund.
It should not foment trouble like calling a strike.
He also clarified that the central fund is released within two days since an interest of 12% has to be paid after the deadline of two days.
He also said that the slashing of fund with instruction to cut down the mandays had the adverse impact in Manipur also.
There is no question of fund diversion and non-release of fund in time, he added.
