K Ranjit anguishes over slow NH 39 improvement work

Work minister, K Ranjit today expressed anguish over slow progress in the improvement work taken up on the road stretch NH-39 from Taphou to Maram.
He warned of blacklisting the implementing agency, HN (Hukato Naga) Company which is based in Dimapur of Nagaland.
The minister was on tour to inspect improvement works being taken up on the stretch of the NH-39 today along with officials of the PWD.
He also inspected progress work of various projects in Senapati district.
After inspection, work minister said that he was unsatisfied with the mode of improvement work being taken up on the Taphou-Maram stretch of the highway.
There was no control of quality in the work even though the progress at other portion of the same highway was satisfactorily progressing, he added.
The contract work of the 27 km road portion is being taken up by Dimapur based HN Company and one contract by the name Suresh is the sub-contractor of the work.
State PWD department had taken over the responsibility of road maintenance work from Imphal to Mao from BRO authority after they failed to maintain the road properly, Ranjit recalled.
The road improvement work of other portion of the highway is being implementing by special contractor Bikram.
He finds good progress in the working, Ranjit said asserting that Government was keeping its view in improving the Mao-Imphal-Moreh section of the NH-39 .
Many underground groups are giving disturbances in taking up improvement work, he said informing that the hot-mix plant at Karong was remained suspended for some time after an armed underground group imposed ban in the operation of the plant.
During his tour, the minister also inspected progress of construction of mini secretariat at Senapati district HQs.
He said constructions of mini secretariat buildings in other district HQs are also under progress.
Government is planning to inaugurate mini secretariats at Senapati, Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Chandel within the month of June this year.
There will see mark improvement in the district administration system once the mini-secretariats were inaugurated, he hopes.
He also inspected construction of Senapati CJM court, civil judge and on the way back, he also inspected the progress of construction of high court complex at Sangakpham.
