Service suspended

Denouncing the assault of a driver and a handyman, the Indo-Burma Sugnu Road Bus Owners' Welfare Union has suspended service along the route indefinitely with effect from tomorrow.
A press release issued by its secretary A Priyokumar Singh said that the driver and handyman of the passenger bus (MN01-0727) operating between Imphal and Serou were severely beaten up by toll tax staff of Khagempali at around 3 pm today.
It added that the driver and handyman are undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital after they were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The press release further said that all members of the union will suspend service till the culprits are punished.
