Positive cases jump by 171 to 757

Imphal, June 19 2020:
Manipur today witnessed triple digit hike in the number of COVD-19 cases, taking the total tally to 777 .
According to a press release issued by the Integrated Diseases Control Programme (IDCP), as many as 75 new cases of COVID-19 were detected at RIMS and JNIMS between 6.30 pm yesterday and 6.30 pm today.
While 61 samples tested positive at RIMS, 14 others were found positive for COVID-19 at JNIMS.
Of the 75 people tested positive for COVID-19, 30 belong to Ukhrul, seven to Senapati, 29 to Tamenglong, two to Kamjong, four to Churachandpur and three to Chandel district.
Meanwhile, 50 people tested positive for the contagion at JNIMS today.
However, their residential details could not be obtained till the time of filing this report.
Further, 46 samples tested positive at RIMS today.
Of the 46 individuals tested positive at RIMS, 31 are residents of Tamenglong, four of Ukhrul, five of Kakching and six of Kamjong.
On the other hand, 19 people who have been undergoing treatment for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospitals after they tested negative during the past 24 hours.
So far, 218 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the State.
