As part of the security measures taken up in connection with the visit of the Prime Minister on November 20, the State Police Department has announced traffic regulations on the said day and November 21.The traffic regulation is also being taken up to convenience the public to attend the public meeting scheduled to be held at Kangla on November 20, said the Imphal West SP in a statement.
As per the new arrangements, all vehicles/buses coming from Sekmai side towards Imphal will be diverted at Sangak- pham-Don Bosco-Laip- ham Khunou and come out to Dingku road-Lamlong bridge-Lamlong-Telepati-Haffis Hatta-RDS road and park at RDS road or take the route from Dingku road to the State bus terminus and park it there.
Vehicles/buses coming from Lamlong side will park at the State bus terminus or Palace compound and they cannot Sanjenthong and Minuthong.
Buses carrying people to attend the meeting from Lilong side will be diverted from Palhanbi- Kiyamgei - Okram Chuthek - Khongman - Kongba bazar - Wangkhei road and park at the eastern side of Hatta Kangjeibung and Palace compound.
Buses/vehicles coming from Mayai Lambi/Mayang Imp/Hiyangthang side will park in between Keishamthong and Khagempalli along Nambul Mapal road.
The vehicles cannot beyond Haobam Marak and Kwakeithel side.
Vehicles coming from Churachandpur side will be diverted at Taobumkhok-Langjing and along Sagolband road and park at Sagolband bus parking.
There will however be no change for vehicles coming from Kangchup road side.
The regulation further stipulates that all vehicles including cycles, rickshaws, two wheelers and three wheelers will be stopped 10 minutes before the VVIP departs from one place to another.
All vehicles should move only when the police gives the signal, said the SP.
People on foot should walk inside barricades put up along the roads.

With the high profile visit just two days away, security has been beefed up in Imphal.
The cars were brought here by a special plane of the Indian Airforce, IL 76 cargo carrier from New Delhi today.
National Security Guard personnel along fully equipped with all the latest arms arrived along with the cars at Tulihal airport.
Personnel of the National Security Guard and Special Protection Group, who have been deputed to Imphal for the Prime Minister's visit have already started round the clock vigil on the routes, Dr Manmohan Singh is supposed to take as well as the places he is scheduled to visit.
The State Government has also deployed all its forces in and around Greater Imphal area to ensure that nothing goes wrong during the visit of the Prime Minister.
CM O Ibobi in the meantime met Governor SS Sidhu at the Raj Bhawan today to discuss the finer details of the PM�s visit.
Sources said that the Chief Minister met the Governor for over an hour and discussed a number of issues in connection with the upcoming high profile visit.
Security arrangements taken up for the Prime Minister's visit figured prominently during the meeting, added sources.
A meeting was also convened by the Chief Minister at his office chamber today.
All Heads of Departments attended the meeting which discussed all aspects of the Prime Minister's visit minutely, said a well placed source.
The preparation works taken up on a war footing ahead of the Prime Minister's visit was also discussed in depth.
Respective departments were instructed to see to their responsibilities judiciously.
Beautification work of Imphal city has been taken up on a war footing and the routes which the Prime Minister will take have undergone major transformation.
