The fair is being jointly organised by North East Educational Consultancy (NEEC) and SS Infotech.
"Organising such a fair is encouraging in a State like Manipur, where options are limited, and the students and parents are confused in choosing career options and institutes", said a parent who visited the fair today.
A consultant of the Jettwings Guwahati, which has courses in aviation and business studies said, her institute provides discount in registration fee of upto Rs 1000 for the students who are registered during the fair.
She further said that her institute which has a placement record of 87.17 percent in aviation courses provides hostel and transport facilities as well.
NEEC proprietor Suresh Singh said that the main aim of organising the event is to provide a 'meeting platform' between the institutes and the students.
He added, "There are lots of fake institutes operating across the country and many State students get cheated by these institutes, but this fair will reduce such risk as we conduct thorough spot enquiry of the participating institutes and also made a perusal of its track records before inviting them to the fair".
Among reputed institutes, CIT College, Tumkur for engineering courses, CMS for management and engineering, Kingfisher and Jettwings for aviation courses are taking part in the fair. The consultant at the kiosk of Surya Nursing College, Bangalore said that his institute will give discount of Rs 40 thousand for the four-year BSc Nursing course for those students who are registered during the fair.
Down Town College of Allied Health Sciences on the other hand provides discount on percentage of marks.
The consultant of the institute said, "55 is the cut off percentage in our institute, but even students who have scored as low as 45 percent can enrol in the fair".
Apart from giving discount of Rs 1000 in registration fees, AHA Aviation and Hospitality Academy also provides facility for fast process of interview.
The fair has already created quite a buzz among students.
As K Nehru, a student said, "Internet does not provide all the queries that we want to know about an institute and its courses, but the fair clears all the doubts".
