Imphal, June 01 2009:
The caretaker of Kangla Board at Kekrupat nabbed one drug peddler, Seiminlal Singsit (22) of Saikul Malkon, Senapati District along with 7 pieces of No-4 drug and surrendered him to the All Manipur Anti Drug Association (AMADA) head office on May 29 last.
A release of AMADA issued by its Secretary Drive Committee, E Deveswor Meetei stated that Miyamgi Yaipha Lup (MYLUP), Lamphel also caught two No-4 drug abusers a male and a female on May 31 last and surrendered to the AMADA head office.
The persons have been identified as Waikhom Sunil (35) of Moirangkhom Sougaijam Leirak and Epham Meena Begum (30) of Moirang Khuman, Kwakta.
The statement further stated that they were stealing four ducks from Langol.
They were once apprehended by volunteers of AMADA head office and they are also involved in many other cases like stealing of Gas Cylinder, Cycle, Rickshaw, Utensils, Clothes and various other items.
All three of them were released after advising them not to take up such antisocial activities in future.
The recovered ducks were surrendered to its owner while the seized drugs will be destroyed in public soon stated the press release.
Lastly, AMADA expressed their heartiest appreciation to the MYLUP, Lamphel and the members of Kangla Fort Board for their kind cooperation.
