Power drive continues, more booked

In the course of the ongoing drive to disconnect power connection of unauthorised consumers and collect over-due power bills, three unauthorised consumers were booked under the Electricity Act 2003.The three unauthorised consumers belong to IED-I under Electrical Circle No 1. IED-I covers Paona Bazar, Haokip Veng, Old Lambulane, Kakhulong, Noguilong, North AOC, Thangal Bazar, Khoyathong Road, Keishamthong Moirangningthou Leirak Maning and Hodam Leirak.
Within these areas, 13 defaulters were detected and their power connections snapped as 111 consumers paid power bills at site.
The total amount paid by the 111 consumers as power bills was Rs 7,54,296.Today's power disconnection drive also covered areas under IED-II, IED-III and IMD.
IED-II covers Keishampat Thiyam Leikai, Keishampat Leimajam Leikai and Keishampat Keisham Leikai where 28 defaulters were detected.
While power connections of these defaulters were disconnected, 13 consumers paid power bills totalling to Rs 1,29,370 at site.
Within IED-III which covers Singjamei Waikhom Leikai, Mange Makhong and Khongman Zone II & III, power connection of 30 defaulters were cut off.
On the other hand, a total of Rs 3,53,531 was paid by 56 consumers as power bills at site.
In Lairikyengbam Leikai, under IMD, 36 defaulters were detected and their power lines disconnected.
Here too, 19 consumers paid Rs 70,399 as power bills on the spot.
So far, Electrical Circle No I has succeeded in collecting overdue bills of Rs 4,58,99,146 since the ongoing drive was launched in December 24 last.
In the course of the drive, power connections of 679 defaulters have been disconnected as 787 consumers paid their overdue bills.
The number of Court cases filed in the course of the ongoing drive has reached 58, conveyed a press release.
