E - Monitoring scheme on Handloom cluster launched

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam launched an 'e monitoring scheme development and cluster development on handloom at Ningthoukhong Model High School ground on Friday.
Speaking at the inaugural function Gaikhangam said that the State needs to set up more agro based industry for the growth in development.
Govindas Konthoujam commerce and Industries minister said that with the launch of the e monitoring system pictures of products could be uploaded at the internet to access the works completed by the members in the cluster.
He also said that the uploaded products at the internet will enhance and extend the marketing avenues.
He also informed that the government is establishing a fragrance and flavour development centre soon.
And in Churachandpur district the government is planning to establish an industrial estate he informed.
Referring to the suitability of lemon grass with the soil in the State, Govindas also said that lemon grass once planted could be harvested for continuously five years and in a year it could be harvested four times or after every three months.
He also said that a farmer in Churachandpur is exporting huge quantity of Lemon grass making a huge profit.
Later the team of ministers interacted with farmers at Kwaksiphai.
MLA N Loken, MLA Dr I Ibohanbi, also took part in the launching function participated by many artisans and public in general.
