ZUF warns individuals, CSOs aiding 'traitors'
Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, May 29 2021: Reacting to being labelled as 'terrorist group', Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has warned all those individuals who are acting on the instigation of "the traitors and dancing to the tune of anti-Zeliangrong political movement to stop forthwith from their sinister campaign against the well-established and recognized political ZUF organization" .

In a press statement issued on Saturday by its secretary Ministry of Information & Publicity Hozam Thaimei, ZUF stated that it is unfortunate that some people under the garb of social organisations are repeatedly issuing press statements in newspapers and electronic media exposing their ulterior motive and meddling in the affairs of Zeliangrong people's political movement without knowing the background and factual position of the ZUF, which is deeply rooted on its political principle and ideology with firm belief on its stand is ever committed towards the cause of the Zeliangrong people since its inception.

"Every revolutionary organization has experienced ups and downs in the course of their political struggle.

There were times where revolutionary organisations used to encounter bitter unavoidable situations especially when the presence of traitors was found within the respective organization and ZUF too is not an exception.

But the political movement of any revolutionary organization (s) which are firmly based and stand grounded on their clear political principle and ideology cannot be easily shaken, hijacked or sabotaged by the mischievous acts of the traitors," ZUF said.

"The ZUF which is defending the inherent political rights of the Zeliangrong people's political movement under the banner of 'Zeliangrong Homeland/State- hood' demand is being challenged from several adversaries all these years from people who are hell bent on sabotaging the Zeliangrong political movement but they will never succeed.

The anti Zeliangrong political movement activities orchestrated by some individuals with the instigation of the traitors are even going to the extent of dubbing the Zeliangrong United Front as 'terrorist group' which is a futile exercise and a serious crime against the true revolutionary organization," it said.

ZUF then advised "those individuals to know the true meaning of 'terrorist' instead of unnecessary meddling in the affairs of Zeliangrong political issue and ZUF in particular.

Take serious note of the fact that we are restraining ourselves from taking punitive actions against such elements (individuals who are hobnobbing with the traitors) because the ZUF is engaged in peace talks with the Government of India along with other Naga Political Groups.

"We want to remind those anti-people's organizations that the Government of India does not engage in peace talks with terrorists but the Government is engaged in peace talks with the ZUF along with other Naga Political Groups because Government of India knows very well that the ZUF is not a terrorist organisation but a legitimate organization who have the full mandate of the Zeliangrong people".

It went on, "Everyone including the Government of India knows that ZUF is struggling hard to fulfil the cherished dream of Rani Gaidinliu to have a Zeliangrong Homeland/State.

Our patience and restraint should not be taken as weakness.

If these few individuals continue to indulge in anti-people's activities under the instigation of traitors, action deemed fit would be taken in due course of time".

The Front then reassured its commitment towards the cause of the Zeliangrong political movement and appealed to the Zeliangrong people not to be disheartened or emotionally swayed by the present prevailing situation which, it said, is momentary.

"Vested interest individuals using the name of few organizations and trying to tarnish the good image of ZUF by levelling unfounded and baseless allegation is not the first instance.

But each time the ill-motivated and hidden agenda of the vested individuals using the name of few organizations under the instigation of the traitors are an open book now where any sensible people can see.

The ZUF holds the Zeliangrong people in high esteem who in fact are the real judges and who possess the ability to identify the real patriots and the fake patriots," ZUF added.

ZUF then advised, "all the individuals who are trying to mislead the general public by their ill-motivated campaign to desist from further sinister efforts as the ZUF's hard earned peaceful political negotiation with the Government of India following the execution of an 'Alliance Agreement' with the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-U) under the banner of Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) did not happen overnight.

"It was a prudent and timely action after much thought and consideration to safeguard the interest of the Zelian- grong people in this crucial time and circumstances.

It is to make it loud and clear to one and all that the ZUF will defend the political rights of the Zeliangrong people at any cost and will never compromise the cherished dream of the Zeliangrong people for Statehood/ Homeland".

The Front then strictly warned all those individuals who are acting on the instigation and direction of the traitors and dancing to the tune of anti Zeliangrong political movement to stop forthwith from their sinister campaign against the well-established and recognized political ZUF organization.

The Zeliangrong United Front will never betray the Zeliangrong people's mandate and solemnly re-assures that the political movement will be continued with more vigour and determination till the aspiration of the Zeliangrong people is achieved," it added.
