Salary ban lifted

Imphal, June 27 2019:
The Finance Department has lifted all restrictions on withdrawal of employees' salaries and pensioners' pensions.
Principal Secretary (Finance) Rakesh Ranjan issued an office memorandum to this effect yesterday.
The office memorandum encompasses contractual, work charge, muster roll, Home Guard, casual employees, grant-in-aid employees as well as VDF personnel.
It also asked treasury offices to obtain and pass all pending salaries.
Notably, RBI banned all financial transactions of the State Government on June 12 after it ran into an overdraft of Rs 274 crore.
The overdraft was done away with after the State Government received Central tax share of Rs 305 crore from the Central Government on June 21.Notably, the State Government spends Rs 410 crore per month in paying salaries and another Rs 110 crore per month in paying pensions.
