YDA winter camp commences

A seven-day YDA winter camp for students from class II to X, organised by Youth Development Association (YDA) Tentha Khunou Awang Leikai, Thoubal district commenced today .
With “To promote and aspire” as the theme of the camp, the inaugural ceremony was attended by former Arts and Culture Minister Dr Moirangthem Nara as chief guest, Sector Headquarters BSF, CI (OPS) Manipur Commandant Hidam Subol as president and Department Cooperation Inspector, Headquarters Chandel Moirangthem Surjit as guest of honour .
Speaking on the occasion, YDA general secretary M Sitaljit stated that the camp was organised with a view to provide a platform for children to let them explore their creativity and talents .
A total of 253 students are participating in the camp, he added .
He said that the main highlights of the camp would be competition and activities based on Arts and Culture and Sports while interaction programme as well as awareness programmes will also be conducted as part of the winter camp.
