Imphal, December 24 2017:
Exuding confidence that the Govern-ment of India would do whatever is required when it strikes a final settlement with NSCN-IM, NPF Manipur Unit president Morung Makunga has asserted that NPF continues to stand by its constitution to uphold the demand for integration of Naga inhabited areas .
Even though the State Assembly adopted a resolution with due approval of the MLAs to the effect that the contents of the Framework Agreement should be revealed and any solution to the Naga issue should not impinge upon the interest of Manipur, there would be no change to the NPF's demand for integration of Naga inhabited areas as the same has been reflected prominently in the party's constitution, Morung said .
Notably, both Morung Makunga and Awangbow Newmai have been claiming themselves as president of NPF Manipur unit .
Awangbow Newmai was present at the all political parties meeting convened by Chief Minister recently on the Framework Agreement .
Taking part in the discussion on the Framework Agreement on the floor of the State Assembly on December 21, Awangbow Newmai commented that any solution brought out by the Government of India to the Naga issue would not be unacceptable to other communities for the Govern- ment of India had never harmed the interest of other communities while working out a solution to any issue of any particular community .
On the other hand, the news item published under the heading "NPF blames MLAs for anti-party activities" on December 24 issue was fed by Morung Makunga and the entire story was based on his comments.
