Signature campaign against child labour on

Imphal, November 24 2012:
Signature cum postcard campaign against child labour has been kicked off today by the deputy commissioner of Imphal West, Radhakumar at Lamphel DC complex in Imphal, organized by Manipur Domestic Workers Movement Organisation (MDWMO) .
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to educate children and mould them into good citizens and make the state free from child labour.
Spokesperson of MDWMO, David Gangmei appealed to the Labour Department to expedite process of child labour and warned that those involved in child labour would be booked under the child labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act of 1986 .

He also added that goverrnmnet has included children working as domestic workers and those working in dhabas, roadside, eateries, etc as categorized in hazardous occupations.
The organization that it had rescued and repatriated 44 domestic workers till date, revealed Agnes Khala, state co-ordinator speaking on the sideline of the programme.
