Imphal, February 03 2019:
The State Government has assured ex-gratia to the family of the two sisters killed in a bomb blast at Leishok village, Noney district on Feb 1, this year.
After completion of post mortem at JNMS morgue yesterday, family members refused to take back the bodies until an understanding is reached with the Chief Minister.
As such, leaders of Zeliangrong civil society organisations tried to call on Chief Minister N Biren but the latter was found out of station as he is currently at Delhi.
Nonetheless, the Chief Minister advised Education Minister Th Radheshyam to talk with the CSO leaders.
As advised by the Chief Minister, Radheshyam came to JNIMS morgue and talked with the bereaved family.
This was followed by another meeting with CSO leaders at the Minister's chamber.
The two sides later reached an understanding on five points including payment of ex-gratia to the bereaved family, appointment of the next kin of the deceased to a suitable Government, job and sanitisation of Leishok village for presence of any explosive.
Subsequently, the bereaved family agreed to claim the corpses.
