World Day Against Child Trafficking observed

The WorldDay Against Trafficking in Person was observed by Childline Bishnupur at Kasturba Gandhi Bal Vidhya Mandir, Thamnapokpi on July 30, informed S Rebika Devi, Centre Coordinator of Childline Bishnupur in apress release today.
The programme was attended by Lamabam Pishak Singh, Director, Childline Bishnupur, Sanasam Rebika Devi, Centre Coordinator, Childline Bishnupur, Raju Singh, Asst Teacher, Kasturba Gandhi Bal Vidhya Mandir, Thamnapokpi, Sophia, Warden, Kasturba Gandhi Bal Vidya Mandir, Thamnapokpi.
In the programme, L Pishak Singh said that child trafficking is a huge issue in the world today.
Children are lured with the false promise of jobs, money, education and are exploited as child labour or sexually abused or sold or used to harvest organs.
Even though everyone is aware that this is illegal, it is rampant all over the world.
Therefore, this programme has been observed to resolve to put an end to the loss of life, exploitation of women and child, selling of children to tourists etc all across the world.
He also appealed all concerned to call the police or the Childline No 1098 if anyone comes across any instances of child trafficking.
