House okays 4 demands

The House of Manipur Legislative Assembly today passed four demands amounting to Rs 1,46,75,82,000 after a thorough discussion and voting.
A policy cut motion was raised regarding the demand for rehabilitation (Rs 4,24,14,000) by MLA K Ranjit, which was withdrawn later.
While discussing the demand, Rehabilitation Minister K Shyam stated that he would take up the matter of deporting Myanmar refugees from Manipur as democracy has been restored in the neighbouring country.
Taking part in the discussion of Demand No.45-Tourism (Rs 37,05,92,000), Chief Minister N Biren who is also in charge of Tourism said that the present Government is taking up all the possible steps to boost Tourism sector in the State.
He maintained that the Government is sending project reports for approval to DoNER Ministry and North Eastern Council to develop the Tourism sector in the State.
Chief Minister also told the House that a sum of Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned to develop Kangkhui Cave under Tourism Department.
Replying to a query raised by MLA O Surjakumar Singh, N Biren said that the State has selected places adjacent to NIT Complex for rehabilitating Manipuri ponies specially which are on the street.
The Government is also planning to develop a road to connect Dzuko valley easily.
Another demand for Art & Culture (Rs 23,82,41,000) was tabled in the House.
