Digital India Week celebrated in EPFO

As a part of "Digital India Week", Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on July 6 unveiled their new revamped website at a function organised at EPFO Headquarters.
Inaugurating the website, Shankar Aggarwal, IAS, Secretary, Labour and Employment expressed his happiness on the various initiatives taken by EPFO in the recent past to bring about a transformative effect on the benefit delivery mechanisms by adopting IT enabled tools and techniques.
While adding that EPFO, in the coming days, shall be a centre for excellence in governance and would adopt more such citizen friendly initiatives, the Secretary complimented EPFO for undertaking the mammoth exercise of allotting UAN (Universal Account Number) for all EPF members which would make the services of the organization faster and more transparent.
On the occasion, a booklet detailing various digital initiatives taken by EPFO in the recent past was also released.
Meanwhile, Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of State for Labour and Employment (Independent Charge) launched "Nidhi Aapke Nikat"or "PF near You" on July 10 last in New Delhi replacing Bhavishyanidhi Adalat.
The success of introduction of e-initiatives in EPFO has been evidenced by the fact that 58 lakh members have already activated their UAN and are able to access the enhanced services of EPFO including getting monthly SMS about credit of contribution into their PF account and UAN based updated passbook.
