New machine for HIV, Hep detection to be procured

A new machine that can detect HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis will be procured from United States of America and the same will be dedicated to the people of the State in the first week of next year .
This was declared by Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar during the inauguration of a free health camp organised by Home of Underprivileged Society & Empowerment (HOUSE) at the community hall of Yaipha Lamjing Lup (YLL), Pishum Ningom Leirak Machin today .
Speaking to media persons, Jayantakumar said that the health camp was organised in connection with the monthly distribution of pension to people living with HIV/AIDS in Keishamthong area .
He said that a monthly pension amount of Rs 300 is being distributed to around 104 people living with HIV/AIDS in the constituency .
He informed that the State Government had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a Chennai-based firm for procurement of a new machine that can easily detect HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis disease .
The machine manufactured by USA will be brought to the State in the first week of next year and the same will be dedicated to the people of the State, he added .
The health camp was held under the sponsorship of the Health Department, Manipur AIDS Control Society (MACS) and Ayush Department.
