BSF celebrates Raising Day

The 53rd Raising Day of Border Security Force (BSF), Manipur & Nagaland Sector Headquarters was celebrated today amidst fervour at BSF Campus, Koirengei .
Arms display, mela with different food stalls were staged to mark the occasion .
Speaking as the chief guest of the function, Education Minister Th Radheshyam lauded the force for its immense contributions for the safety of the citizens and the borders .
He said that the BSF, since its inception, has been playing a crucial role in protecting the country's vast borders tirelessly .
Radheshyam, who was a former police officer, said that he felt nostalgic and delightful at the same time as he mingled with uniformed personnel for the first time since he quit active service about one year ago .
DIG, CI (Ops) Manipur and Nagaland Sector Angom Shamoo said that the opening of BSF Mela with support from the four battalions, during the celebration of the Raising Day has made the event more magnificent.
The Mela included indigenous food stalls of different taste, games and entertainment .
The occasion was attended by the Commandants of different battalions, families and jawans.
