KKDC appeals Govt to help Covid-hit people

Imphal, July 21 2021:
Khundrakpam Kendra Development Committee has appealed to the state government for aiding those who have been deprived of their livelihood due to the total curfew imposed for containing Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking in this regard, KKDC spokesperson N Dijen informed that the Committee fully supports the total curfew imposed by the state government and has been distributing edibles to families located inside containment zones.
However, low-income families, especially daily wage earners have been heavily affected by the curfew, he observed and appealed to the government to extend all necessary help in this regard.
Further stating that majority of the population in the state are daily wagers, the spokesperson said that many have been forced to come out and search for food to feed their families despite government restrictions.
As such, he urged the government to take pre-emptive steps such as distribution of edibles and other items and formulation of appropriate polices.
KKDC will extend all necessary help in this regard, Dijen assured.
Meanwhile, under the aegis of MLA Th Lokeshwar, edibles were distributed to families in Pukhao Lamkhai, Uyumpok Maning Leikai, Keibi Heikakmapal, Tejpur, Sagolmang, Sinam and Masung Takham Maning Leikai.
