Memorial day observed

A memorial event titled Unity Day of India was observed today by All India Tazeem-E-Insaaf (AITI), Manipur State Council at Lilong Usoipokpi, in memory of the two brave-hearts Shaheed Ashfaq-Ullah and Shaheed Ram Prasad Bismil who gave up their lives for the country's independence.
Md Islahuddin, AITI state secretary who was also elected as the National secretary at the National conference of AITI held at Patna from December 4 to 7, took part in the event along with Atoukhong Zilla Parishad member MV Faisal, AITI State president Dr Badaruddin and social activist Md Nasir Ahmad.
Kakching Khunou College history Associate Professor Md Allauddin spoke about Shaheed Ashfaq Ullah Khan and Shaheed Ram Prasad Bismil at the event.
He said, "The two freedom fighters were hanged by the British on December 19, 1927 at Faizabad jail for taking part in the freedom struggle against the British".
Speaking at the event, Md Ishlahuddin said that the event was held as part of a memorial day titled Unity Day of India organised Nationwide by AITI in memory of the two freedom fighters.
He said that the event was organised with the aim of shedding animosity between different communities and to promote peace and unity.
"AITI is a group dedicated to justice (Insaaf) and it has been providing support to the farmers, the minorities and the downtrodden", he added.
