Transporters donate 60k for next of kin of landslide deaths

Transporters' and Drivers' Council, (TDC) Manipur has generously donated Rs.60,000 for the next of kin of the bereaved families of six security personnel who lost their lives in a landslide accident along National Highway 53 on July 6, said a press statement of Manipur police.
DGP Manipur and police department extend sincere gratitude to TDC Manipur for its generous donation of Rs.60, 000 to be distributed at Rs.10, 000 each to the next of kin of the bereaved families of six security personnel who lost their lives in an unfortunate accident as a mark of recognition and respect for their valuable service and sacrifice to the people of Manipur, said the press statement signed by IGP (Adm.) Manipur T Pachuau on behalf of DGP Manipur Monday.
Such a gesture will go a long way to help the family members of the deceased to come to terms with their loss.
Police department will cherish the same forever, added the statement.
Significantly, on July 6 a massive avalanche of a landslide killed six security personnel of Manipur Rifles (MR) and Indian Reserved Battalions (IRB) who were travelling along National Highway 53 towards Jiribam district headquarters to escort back loaded freight trucks and oil tankers stranded there.
