On the other hand, protesters vandalised another Bolero at Marangching Part III today, the source added .
It may be mentioned that the villagers imposed a boycott on all projects in the area from the midnight of December 20, in connection with alleged irregularities/ malpractice in the process of paying compensation to the people affected by the Jiri-Imphal railway project being executed by the North East Frontier Railways .
The two vehicles were destroyed by the villagers on the charge that they did not pay heed to boycott call .
The source pointed out that on December 10, the villagers submitted a memorandum to the CM demanding necessary actions within a period of five days.
The deadline was extended to 10 days after the CM requested for at least 10 days to sort out the issue and as such the villagers set the deadline on December 20 .
The villagers had demanded the CM to hand over investigation into the process of awarding compensation to an official not less than the Chief Secretary or the Additional Chief Secretary .
In the memorandum, villagers alleged that two individuals had withdrawn and misused around Rs 36 crore, meant for compensation of the affected village .
They further demanded the State Government to retrieve the compensation amount given to the two individuals and take necessary actions against the DC, Tamenglong and officials of UBI, allegedly involved in the act, the source added.
