CAU distributes inputs

Central Agriculture University (CAU) Imphal distributed black gram and green gram to farmers of Chandel district, who have been facing numerous grievances because ofthe minimal rainfall, under the Tribal sub-plan of AICRP (MULLaRP) Kharif 2019.The distribution function was held with a training at Chandonpokpi village in collaboration with NGO United Tribal Development Project.
Altogether 43 farmers took part in the programme wherein inputs like black gram and green gram along with sprayers were distributed to the farmers.
Dr KS Shashisdhar, Scientist Agronomy, CAU, Dr AK Mishra, Deputy Director Research CAU and Dr M Samual Jeburson, Project leader AICRP (MULLaRP), Directorate of Research CAU Imphal attended the function as resource persons, conveyed a statement issued by United Tribal Development Project Chandonpokpi.
The experts emphasized about the importance of cultivation of pulses in time of less rainfall and sustainability of black gram and green gram in hill terrains.
Later, NGO chief functionary Romeo Yuhlung lauded the experts of CAU for giving their insights to the farmers and appealed to all the line departments and agencies of the district as well as the State to combat the challenges together.
