Myanmar delegates felicitated at Slopeland Public School

Manipuri delegates from Myanmar who visited the State to take part in the recently concluded Sangai Festival 2015 were felicitated on Tuesday by Slopeland Public School, Khongjom and Indo-Myanmar Association at the campus of the school.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Thoubal, T Ranjit; Chairman of Slopeland Public School, Khongjom Y Themboi; Principal of the school N Babulin; leader of the Myanmar delegates K Sundergopal Sharma and Pradhan of Tekcham Papal Gram Panchayat L Phulojao attended the function as presidium members.
The delegates comprised of 30 persons from Myanmar were presented with gifts by Slopeland Public School, Khongjom.
Thoubal DC T Ranjit and K Sundergopal Sharma of Myanmar also inaugurated the newly constructed bus stand and one waiting shed of the school.
K Sundergopal Sharma who led the Myanmar team admitted that every Meetei in Myanmar want to visit Manipur but faces lot of difficulties.
However, he added that if democracy comes in Myanmar and if India is successful in its Act East Policy, then Manipur will be thronged by the people of Myanmar.
Sundergopal also requested the people of the State to welcome the people of Myanmar when they visit the State for any purpose including education.
Thoubal DC T Ranjit also appealed the Myanmarese delegate members to visit Manipur with more Meeteis from Myanmar in the next edition of Sangai Festival.
