Imphal, December 08 2015:
Manipur Education Minister Moirangthem Okendra has stopped the political conference of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which was scheduled to be held from December 5 to 10 in Heirok A/C, alleged sources.
Sources informed Hueiyen Lanpao that the political conference organised under AAP, Manipur State was allegedly stopped by education minister and MLA of Heirok A/C M Okendro's men.
A team led by Heirok Police Station OC RK Eden vandalized all the items used for the publicity of the political conference and searched for people who were involved in the publicity campaign.
The houses of publicity campaigners were searched and family members were allegedly abused by police personnel for trying to hold a political conference during the death anniversary observation of the minister's father, said a source.
The OC also asked the family members to send their wards at the police station.
An active member of AAP informed to Hueiyen Lanpao that, in a democratic country like India, intervention in political activities by another political party in power is a suppression of the fundamental rights under the Constitution of India.
Urging the authorities to look into the matter, the person also stated that the matter will be raised at the Centre.
