Imphal, December 08 2015:
All activities related to Manipuri movies have been suspended following monetary demands made by some armed groups.
Speaking to media persons at their office today, Film Forum Manipur (FFM) chairman L Surjakanta said that KCP-MC (Paikhomba), NRFM and URF allegedly served huge monetary demands to FFM and guilds and associations which have been working together with FFM.
FFM held a meeting on the matter and decided to cease all activities related with Manipuri movies.
All activities related with Manipuri movies such as film shooting, telecasting Manipuri movies, film songs and music videos in local TV channels, screening premiere shows as well as regular shows in cinema halls and release of new movies would be suspended, he said.
He then appealed to all the people and the concerned armed groups to support the decision of FFM and withdraw the monetary demands.
